Battery usage tips

New battery pack must be fully charged before use. Avoid frequent full discharges to reduce strain on the battery. Plug the battery in when the charge reaches 60% whenever possible. 3. The Battery pack needs to be calibrated every 30 charges or once a month by fully discharging the fully charging the battery (cycled). 4. Rechargeable batteries undergo self-discharging when left unused. When storing a battery pack in a fully charged state ensure that it is not stored for a prolonged period of time (>1 month) with out being used. Should you need to store the battery for a month or more, charge the battery to 40% prior to storage to minimize degradation, maximum of 1 year storage in this state. Store in a cool dry place. 5. The backlight of the LCD screen draws a significant amount of power from the batteries. Turn down the LCD brightness of your portable device to improve battery life. 6. Use built-in power management on your portable device so Windows can automatically save battery energy for you. 7. Turn off LCD or other unnecessary accessories when not in used. 8. Use Hibernate instead of Stand By. 9. Use a blank screen saver set to activate after 1 to 2 minutes of inactivity. 10. Add more RAM if you have extra RAM expansion slot, it will reduce the usage of hard drive and its power consumption. 11. Close unused software in your notebook. Reduce the number of applications running in the background. 12. Minimize the use of the Hard Drive such as frequent saving of documents (auto-save). 13. Remove unused PC Cards or USB devices from your notebook. 14. Avoid watching DVDs or playing graphics intensive video games to extend battery life. Should you need to watch a movie, run it from the Hard Drive instead of the Optical Drive. Optical Drives use more power than Hard Drives. 15. Don't short circuit terminal or store your battery pack with metal parts. 16. Don't drop or mutilate the battery pack. 17. Don't expose the battery pack to moisture or water. 18. When using a notebook computer running from a fixed line power over extended periods, the battery should be removed and stored in a cool place so that it is not affected by the heat produced by the computer. Note that should the power be interrupted, unsaved work will be lost. 19. It is normal for the battery to become warm when charging or normal use. If it is getting too hot, there may be a problem with the device and qualified personnel should check it. In this event, please bring your NEO Laptop to the nearest NEO Authorized Service Center.

Battery Do's & Don'ts

(to maximize performance)

Do's:

Keep the battery and the contact terminals clean. Calibrate the battery every 30 charges or once a month by fully discharging then recharging it. Avoid exposing the battery to extreme heat and cold. Use the battery. If possible, avoid letting your battery sit dormant for long periods of time. Use only the options and accessories that you really need.

Don'ts:
Keep the battery fully drained for an extended period or time Toss, drop, or otherwise abuse the battery. Short-circuit the battery. Open and expose the cell contents. Modify the battery casing and/or housing. Allow the battery to be exposed to rain or excessive moisture. Incinerate a battery. Properly dispose of a used battery. ------------------------------------------The lithium battery life span can be severely impacted by overcharging, as this can cause the individual cells in the laptop battery to collapse, this will reduce how long the computer battery will take between charges. So if you want your notebook batteries to last as long as possible DO NOT OVERCHARGE.

Lithium-Ion The possible storage temperature range for Lithium-Ion batteries is is -20C to 60C but for prolonged storage period -20C to 25C is recommended and 15C is ideal. Cells should be stored with a partial charge of between 30% and 50%. Although the cells can be stored fully discharged the cell voltage should not drop below 2.0 Volts per cell and cells should be topped up to prevent over-discharge. The maximum voltage should not exceed 4.1 Volts thanks,
