How to register your places on Google-maps

1. Go to Google Maps using following link : http://www.maps.google.com

2. If you have not signed in sign it with your email id.

3. Click on My-Maps, in-turn it will land up on following page.

4. on clicking, create map , it will land-up to following page…. Where you have to
fill following small form….

5. The form in more clear and magnified image. ..

5.1. Give the Title to your map and then the description as shown above and at last
choose the option , either – “Public”, “Unlisted”.
5.2. click on “Save” and then click “Done”. Doing this you will land-up to following
page …

6. Now to Add a place to you’re My-Maps - type the place name in the Search bar .
For eg- If I need to add “Pune, India”

And google map will take you to new place “ pune, India” as shown below …

7. The pop-up box seen above -

8. Here Click on “Save to My Maps” and the next pop-up box will come

9. The name of your map , you have given before ( in this document we have done
in step-5) will come in the drop down box …. Chose the name and click “ Save”.

10. Next , it will ask to give the description you want to give to your place just saved
in your my-maps … the screenshot is below - -

10. You can even change the Icon for the same… here its blue balloon…. You can
choose other too…. Or you can have your own symbol… if you have one…

If you want to add your icon just click on – “Add an icon”

Just add the url of the image and image will be loaded….

11. click on “link” tab on upper right corner and the following link you will get which
can used to embed the google map in any website.
