To read for gist. b. Specific: To practice talking about planets. To read for specific information.

    2. Emotional: To encourage conversation and develop fluency.

    3. STUDENTS POSSIBLE PROBLEMS / ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS: the pupils might not understand some of the words from the text,inhibiton 4. POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS TO THE THEM: I will ask them if there are unknown words and I will explain and translate them TYPES OF INTERACTIONS: teacher to students, students to teacher, student to student TEACHING TECHNIQUES: Conversation, explanation, reading, individual work MATERIALS: the handouts with the Solar system, Pathway to English English Factlife.

    a.) T. asks the Ss. the following question: -Can you tell me the name of our planet? T. elicits the name The green Planet: Why is the Earth called the Green Planet ? b.)T. writes the title The Green Planetand the subtitle Galactic Travellers on the blackboard.

    Ss. answer the T.s questions.

    To practice talking about the planets.

    Ss. copy the title in their notebooks.

    c.) T. explains the following unknown words and writes them on the blackboard: spaceship, MILKY WAY, travellers, to approach, to revolve around, wise, to pollute, coal, to destroy, self- destruction. T. asks the Ss. to copy the unknown words from the blackboard in their notebooks. d.)T. names a student for each

    Ss. copy the words from the blackboard in their notebooks.

    Ss. read the questions and give answers.
