Direct Debit Request Service Agreement


Your rights and Obligations

You must ensure your Nominated Account can accept Direct Debits as not all accounts do. The Direct Debit Request must be signed in accordance with the signing authority for the Nominated Account. Where the nominated account is a joint account, you must ensure you are a person authorised to operate the nominated account separately and in the manner contemplated by the direct debit request and that you do not require the signature or authority of any other joint account holder).

The signature used for the direct debit request must be identical to the signature used in connection with your nominated account. You must ensure there are sufficient cleared funds available in your Nominated Account on the debit day to cover the direct debit payment amount. If the direct debit arrangement is suspended, cancelled or dishonoured for any reason, you will not be eligible for any reimbursement of fees, charges or interest. You should check your account statement to verify that the amount debited from your account is correct.

You may request the Nominated Account or Financial Institution be changed, but a new Direct Debit Request for must be completed and signed. We may vary any details of this agreement or the direct debit request at any time (including cancelling it). We will give you notice in writing of any such changes at least fourteen (14) days before the change takes effect.

If the Direct Debit falls on a non-business day, SFS may draw the amount on the next business day. If there are insufficient cleared funds in your Nominated Account to meet a Direct Debit payment:

Disputes

You may be charged a dishonour fee by your Financial Institution. You may also incur fees, charges and/or interest imposed or incurred by SFS. You must arrange for the applicable payment to be made by another method or arrange for sufficient cleared funds to be in your account by an agreed time so we can process the Direct Debit payment. You will not be eligible for any refund of interest rate charges, fees or charges.

If you believe there has been an error in debiting your Nominated Account, you should notify Solar Financial Solutions by telephoning 1300 213320 as soon as possible so that SFS can resolve your query as quickly as possible. Alternatively, you can take the issue up directly with your Financial Institution. If SFS concludes as a result of our investigations that your Nominated Account has been incorrectly debited, SFS will respond to your query by arranging for your financial institution to adjust your nominated account (including interest and charges) accordingly. If SFS concludes as a result of its investigations that your Nominated Account has not been incorrectly debited, SFS will let you know the reason. Confidentiality We will keep any information (including your account details) confidential. We will make reasonable efforts to keep any such information that we have about you secure and to ensure that any of our employees or agents who have access to information about you do not make any unauthorised use, modification, reproduction or disclosure of that information. SFS - Solar Financial Solutions Financial Institution - the Financial Institution where your Nominated Account is held Nominated Account - means the account held at your Financial Institution from which SFS is authorised to arrange for the funds to be debited.
