KNAPIK AND VEGA TO JOIN MIFA FOR ANNOUNCEMENT RELATIVE TO VICTORY THEATRE RESTORATION PROJECT
Press Conference to begin at 10am on Friday, August 2nd at the Victory Theatre

BOSTON Senator Michael R. Knapik and Representative Aaron Vega will join Don Sanders, Founder and Executive Artistic Director at the Massachusetts International Festival of Arts, for an exciting announcement relative to the Victory Theatre Restoration project and the Fiscal Year 2013 supplemental budget. The press event will occur on Friday, August 2nd at 10:00am at the Theatre, 81-89 Suffolk Street in Holyoke.

The 1,600 seat facility, which opened in 1920, served as one of the most magnificent theatres in Western Massachusetts through the early and mid-20th century. Most recently, the Victory was used as a movie theatre until its closure in 1979. The restoration of the Victory Theatre will serve as a key component to the revitalization of downtown Holyoke with the Victory becoming the center piece of Holyokes Comprehensive Downtown Arts Development Project. The planned renovation of the Theatre will create economic development opportunities within the region and support the growth of MIFA. Senator Knapik and Representative Vega encourage all to attend. If you have any question or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact their offices.
