What you will need:

RED HEART Boutique MagicalTM: 1 ball of 1101 Crystal Ball Susan Bates Circular Knitting Needles: 4 mm [US 6] 16 (40.5 cm) Susan Bates Double Pointed Knitting Needles: 4 mm [US 6] Stitch marker, yarn needle. GAUGE: 16 sts = 4 (10 cm); 24 rows = 4 (10 cm) in Rib Stitch. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauge.

With circular needle, cast on 80 (88) sts. Join, being careful that sts are not twisted, and begin working in the round. Place marker for beginning of round. Round 1 (Right side): (K2, P2) around. Repeat Round 1 for pattern until Beanie measures approximately 10 (25.5 cm) from cast on edge.

CROWN SHAPING Note: Change to double pointed needles when there are too few sts for the circular needle. Round 1 (Right side): (K2tog, P2tog) around: 40 (44) sts. Round 2: K2tog around: 20 (22) sts. Round 3: K2tog around: 10 (11) sts. Size Medium Only Round 4: K2tog around: 5 sts. Size Large Only Round 4: K1, K2tog around: 6 sts.
