Lunch routines and procedures: 1. Table Talk, Stand Silent: Talking quietly is allowed while sitting at a table.

All other times are silent. 2. The cafeteria silent zone will be marked with arrows (also indicating flow of traffic) on the floors. (exterior of cafeteriaany time in line or walking) 3. Teacher should have students stop at the paw outside of the cafeteria doors (at top of stairs for older grades) before proceeding into the cafeteria. At that point, the teacher will lead the line into the cafeteria and will lead the students through the line (whether buying lunch or not) to serve as a positive role model for the students and to provide extra positive behavior support. 4. Students come in the cafeteria in a line with their class, no talking. 5. Students will follow the arrows on the floor to proceed to the serving line. No talking is allowed until students sit down. 6. Lock-it or Pocket need to teach students what this looks like (facing forward with hands together, at sides or in pockets). 7. In the serving line, students stand on a Paw Print - do not proceed forward until a Paw Print is empty. 8. Students should get any condiments before they sit down. If a student forgets their condiments, they will raise their hand and request adult assistance. 9. Students may talk to other students at their table only in a whisper voice. 10. TA tells students when it is time to throw away food. 11. Each class should have two tray stackers (dump trash, stack trays) and two table washers. 12. After throwing away their food, students get in line along wall (Silent Zone) to prepare to leave the cafeteria. 13. No assigned seats in the cafeteria put forward trust in the beginning if students cannot handle this, then they may need to have assigned seats 14. Idea: during the last month of school, have free seating in the cafeteria for 5th grade students (classes possibly earning this privilege throughout the year).
