At time of writing the Dec '13 EUA Contract was at 4.32. The story of July was sinking trade volume for the carbon market. Speculators took a back seat amongst a thin trading range. The ICE Dec'13 contract traded beween 3.42 and 4.86 during the month of July. Traded volume was down 40% in July on the previous month. A drop of 30% in traded volume was witnessed from the same month in 2012. This can also be compared to the largest trading range month of 2013 when the carbon Dec'13 contract traded between 2.81 and 6.80. UN offsets have also fallen away with no spot CER'S traded on the ICE exchange for nearly 2 weeks now. The ICE spot CER is currently valued at 0.58 and the ICE ERU contract is trading at 0.34 this morning. The month of August is always a quiet month for carbon as much of Europe heads for their seasonal break to recharge the batteries. In the CDM pipeline 27 new projects were submitted. This represents the highest presenentation of new projects on a monthly basis in 2013. In July, 139 projects received their registration action. The CDM Pipeline now contains 8846 CDM projects. July had a small monthly issuance of 9.5 MCERs. The total issuance is now 1362 MCERs. One new PoA was submitted in July: "CDM Sustainable Energy Programme", covering Senegal and Zambia.
