Lifelong Wellness Application Paper


Write a paragraph on each of the following:

1. What did you learn about lifelong wellness from taking this General Education class? Lifelong wellness is very important to staying healthy and active. This has many benefits, including staying in shape, stress relief, and adding some variety to the regular routine. Staying active is very important to a well balanced life. It is necessary to offset the amount of time spent sitting at a desk or in the car.

2. How would you apply this information to your life? Incorporating these principles into my daily life will help me live longer and happier. It will be especially important when I am finished with school and working in an office. My daily routine will consist of a lot of sitting in front of a computer, limiting my opportunity for physical activity. Maintaining a level of physical activity will be essential to my continuing health.

3. What is your intention to continue to practice what you have learned in your life and why? I will continue to play golf throughout my life. Hopefully with more practice, I will actually be pretty good at it some day. I play golf with my grandfather whenever I visit. Now that I know a little more, maybe I will be able to keep up with him.

4. General ideas for improving this course? Splitting the class up into a few designated groups so that each group will have at least one opportunity to play a real game of golf would be a great improvement. This would require two instructors, but from what I saw during the semester that would not be too difficult. Adding in some practice for sand traps and a short section on the rules of golf would be good as well.
