Golden Paws Reinforcement System

There are certain times of the school year when students negative behaviors tend to increase (right before winter break, spring break, end of the year, etc.). Implementing a special program, such as Golden Paws, can help decrease these negative behaviors and reinforce positive behaviors. This program will be implemented approximately 3 times during the school year. GOLDEN PAWS Each staff member will receive 10 Golden Paws Each Golden Paw equals 10 regular paws Please give a Golden Paw to students who: o have gone above and beyond to show our Powell Promise o consistently follow expectations without having to be reminded o may need extra encouragement to follow expectations Please continue to give out regular Panther Paws as well during this time. GOLDEN BRICK WALL Homeroom teachers will also receive: Bricks Template, and Tally Sheet Homeroom teachers will keep the bricks templates in their classrooms As students receive golden paws, homeroom teachers will have students sign their name on the brick with a marker and keep a tally sheet. Teachers will be responsible for placing the students brick on the GOLDEN BRICK WALL. GOLDEN ROYAL LUNCH The top 3 students from each homeroom will participate in a Golden Royal Lunch. Invitations will be given to the students prior to the lunch. Please do not send more than 3 students to the lunch If there is a tie between students who have Golden Paws, please find a way to break the tie (draw names, etc.). Scenario: If you have 2 students who have received 3 golden paws, 1 that has received 2 golden paws and 1 student who has received 1 golden paw, then the only the ones who have received 3 paws and 2 paws should attend the lunch. If no one in your classroom has received a Golden Paw, then no one should be sent to the Royal Lunch

Please email the winners names to Robin Edwards (rcedwards). You will be given an email reminder with dates during each time we implement the Golden Paws program. Thank you!!!
