4, The Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC, formerly known as Malayan Indian
Congress) MIC is one of a component party of the ruling Barisan National
government who represent the Indian Community in Malaysia. The MIC is an
‘extract of the Indian National Army (L.N.A) and the Indian Independence League
(LL) founded by Netaji Subash Chandra Bose. MIC was formed by the former
LLN.A and IL members in 1947, affer the end of World War 2, to unite the Indian

community and work for the poltical progress of the country, along with other
communities in Malaysia

6. HINDRAF emerged as a result of long standing grievances forthe past 50
years against the Malaysian Government. HINDRAF was formed under the vision
cof unifying minority Indians who was left without cares. Five HINDRAF lawyers
came fonvard voluntarily to provide legal advice and solved several problems of
Indian minority. The Five HINDRAF lawyers were arrested under the Intemal
‘Security Act (ISA) with baseless grounds for detention. There is no evidence to
prove whatever allegations made against them by the government. This clearly
proves that whoever from the members ofthe public, ifraises their voice against
