    Differentiation between Garnishee Order and IT Attachment Order.

    Garnishee Order 1) Issued by Court under Sec 60 of Code of Civil Procedure Act 1908 2) Generally, not issued for specific sum. 3) Not applicable to future credits 4) Order in single name does not attach funds in joint a/c. 5) Does not attach deceased / insolvent a/c.

    IT Attachment Order 1) Issued by Income tax Authorities under Sec 226 of IT Act 1961. 2) Always issued for specific sum. 3) Applicable for future credits also. 4) Applies to joint a/cs also. Pro-rata amount is attached. 5) Attaches deceased / insolvent a/cs.
