Lebanon Road Report

May 24, 2009

Attendance was “off,” but spirits

were high this weekend at Leba-
non Road. Mainly due to the Me-
morial Day holiday, we were down
to just 307 in worship on Sunday.
While we want to see that number jump back up soon (as in this coming Sunday!), we were
glad for each worshiper, including many visitors.

Also among that number was our new summer youth intern, Chris LaFever. Chris comes to
us from Ashville, North Carolina, by way of Freed-Hardeman University. We are glad he is
with us and we know he’ll do a great work encouraging and teaching our young people
alongside J.D.

Our sermon Sunday morning dealt with service, and we “tied it in” with Memorial Day. We
looked at John 13, and the “steps” Jesus took to serve in that grand chapter.

Sunday night, our young men led the service. Austin Nichols spoke, as did Christ LaFever.
David Smith led our singing, while Blake Biggs and Bryan Schow led our prayers. Shane
Williams took care of the PowerPoint for the service. Each of these young men did a great
job and the service was uplifting and encouraging.
Coming This Week... May God continue to bless them with the desire to
serve Him in this way.
