STUDENT WELFARE INTRODUCTION: Student welfare is an important part of the total school programme.

It broadly covers their physical, mental and social well being such needs of the student will be met partly by the facilities provided in the hostel and partly through an active and adequate student health, guidance and counseling service and opportunities for recreation and for cultural and religious activities. I. PHYSICAL WELFARE: A. Hostel facilities B. Health facilities A. Hostel facilities: Adequate hostel accommodation for students should be available to the above said student welfare. 1. Hostel Room 2. Toilet and Bathroom 3. Recreation 4. Visitors Room 5. Kitchen and Dinning Hall 6. Pantry 7. Washing and ironing room 8. Sick Room 9. Canteen B. HEALTH FACILITIES: In all educational institutions provision her health facilities should be made available for the students. STUDENT HEALTH SERVICE: There should be provision for health service for the students such as: 1. An annual medical examination 2. Vaccination against Tetanus, Hepatitis B and other such communicable diseases. 3. Free medical care during illness. 4. In case of major illness the parents/guardians may be informed. 5. A complete health record as stated in the admission policies earlier should be kept. Student welfare programmes are 1. Mental welfare: Man is basically a mind-body unit and these two aspects vitally influence each other. For efficient functioning of the individual, he should not have only possess sound bodily health but should mental health also. 1

2. Guidance and counseling: Guidance it enables or assists the individual to solve educational and psychological problems. Counseling is an interactive process conjoining the counsels who needs assistance and the counselor to give it. It is given to the students to get necessary information and proper informal students and professional. Other welfare programmes are: 3.Social welfare 4.Student organization 5.Student government 6.Student Nurses Association Conclusion: Thus education doesnt need only a better knowledge of any students for any course; the proper opportunities should be provided to let out their stress as well as knowledge can also brought out in a better way than the normal if the students needs were met and provided proper guidance. In the above to be said in one word students welfare should be, met and provided for the best performance of them and to achieve the planned objectives for their course.
