50/CE/MVGR/2012-13/30-04-2013 To The principal MVGR college of Engineering, Vizianagaram Sir, Sub: Construction of water tank in place of existing syntex tank at Civil Engg. block- approval requested regarding Ref: Arising ---------------------This is to bring to the Principals kind notice that the existing water tank in the Civil Engg department needs an immediate replacement as there is major leakage in the tank due to development of crack in the side wall of the tank in the month of October 2012. This fact was brought to the notice of the representatives of the contacting agency. The contacting agency had undertaken repair works to the water tank but the problem is still persisting. As per the records available, the building was handed over to the institution on 24.03.2012. Taking 12 months defective liability period as per the agreement, the defective liability period was over by 23.03.2013. Since the defects were occurred within the liability period, and the contracting agency was also informed within the liability period, the tank shall be replaced with a new one by the contracting agency. In this connection the following proposals are put up for the perusal of the principal. S.NO ITEM COST 1 Construction of brick masonry tank of 6.5 feet Diameter and 6 feet height, Rs.22,000/9 diameter - 5000 litres capacity 2 Syntex tank of Capacity 5000 liters Rs.35,000/As already mentioned, either of these proposals must be executed by the contacting agency at their cost and necessary approval may please be given for one of the alternatives so as to request the contracting agency to execute the same immediately.
