Detailed Narrative Description of Project The automated multilevel underground car parking system at Kamalanagar, is one of its own kind parking project in Delhi. It is being constructed on PPP model by M/S SMSIL PROVIRON (JV) under MCD. The building is 64m in diameter in plan and has Ground + 2 floors above and 8 basement level floors for parking. The project is located in a densely populated area with hardly any space for open cut and fill method of construction. The project is meant for 900 cars & 200 scooters on eight under ground floors (upto a maximum depth og 22.5m). It also consists of two floors above ground level for commercial operation. The structure consists of a 1m thick diaphragm wall in circular shape aound the outer line of under ground structure. 600 thick intermediate columns are also constructed as diaphragm wall. The main portion of the parking is constructed by top down method while central lift shaft portion done up bottom up method. 1.0m dia piles are provided to take uplift force by buoyancy under high ground water table condition. The project involves 75000 cum of open excavation excavation.
