From the VPAR

Hello everyone! Epsilon Tau has had a busy, yet very exciting start to our Spring 2013 semester and we cannot wait to fill you all in with what weve been up to since the semester began! We had a great time at our Spring Fling event at De Palma Terrace Senior Home and a crazy, yet amazing weekend during Greek Week 2013. Weve had events from our Valentines Day cupcake decorating alumnae event to our scholarship banquet. This semester will continue to keep the ladies of Epsilon Tau busy with the many events we have planned up until the end of May! We thank you all so much for your continued support and we hope to see you at future events!

What We Have Been Up To

In February, we had our fist annual Valentines Day Cupcake Decorating Party with our wonderful alumnae. The party was held at our chapter house. Everyone decorated cupcakes with colorful frosting and cute heart shaped sprinkles. We also had our Scholarship Banquet where we honored our sisters who achieved a 3.0 or above grade point average for the Fall 2012 semester. We also attended our sister sorority, Alpha Chi Omegas pancake breakfast to support their philanthropy. We did a lot of practicing to prepare for Greek Week with our partners Delta Chi Fraternity!

Spring Fling at De Palma Terrace

Sigma Kappa is passionate about gerontology and we had so much fun at our philanthropy event which was a Spring Fling at the De Palma Terrace Senior Living Center. On a Friday afternoon we headed over to De Palma Terrace which is located in Placentia. Many girls brought a variety of snacks such as cookies, chips and brownies. We all dressed in our cutest summer dresses. Girls spent time mingling with the seniors and dancing the afternoon away. Our historian, Kelsey Lujan put together a version of the popular dance the Harlem Shake which shows just how much fun our afternoon at the Senior Center was. The wonderful men of Sigma Nu Fraternity came out help us with this event.

Our volleyball team gave it their all and came out on top in the years Greek Week volleyball competition!

Blast Off! Greek Week 2013

Greek Week is something all of Greek Life here at CSUF looks forward to. This year, all the ladies from Epsilon Tau were so excited to dress up and cheer their hearts out all weekend long. The theme this year was Disneyland Lands and our assigned land was Tomorrowland. Our partners for this year was Delta Chi Fraternity. The activities in this years Greek Week were: volleyball, football, field day games, chalk murals, can castles and lip sync. On Day 1, we dressed up as Nemo from "Finding Nemo", on Day 2 we dressed up as Tomorrowland with crazy gold leggings, and homemade jetpacks, and on Day 3 we dressed up as R2D2 from Star Wars. Our Volleyball team: Fatima Butler, Staci Lugo, Tayler Wilson, Brooke Podgorski, Karol Magracia, Kristin Jordan, Hailey Herbers, Jen Dax and Theresa Jones practiced for many weeks. They went out there determined to win and won the competition between all 6 sororities, winning Epsilon Tau a competition banner. Sigma Kappa also placed 3rd overall in the theme category and 2nd overall in the spirit category. The whole weekend was long and tiring but our girls gave it their all, stayed positive and showed their true passion for Sigma Kappa.
