Only the signatures of those eligible to vote in the 2013 Student Senate Elections will count toward the signatures candidates need to collect to be listed as a candidate for Student Senator on the ballot (see Elections Code 400F). The Student Executive Committee does verify the signatures on each petition. Students wishing to run for Student Senate are strongly encouraged to (1) ensure that the signatures they collect are valid for the seat for which they are running and (2) collect more than the minimum number of signatures required in case some of the signatures are not valid. Petitions found by the Student Executive Committee to contain an inadequate number of qualified signatures will be considered invalid and candidates will be required to pay the twenty dollar ($20.00) filing fee in order to be listed on the ballot. All candidates should obtain a copy of and carefully read the 2013 Elections Code. Code policies are strictly enforced.

All candidates must sign the rules sheet before the day of the election to be considered valid candidates!

Questions about this form or the general elections process should be addressed to Tyler Childress, Chief of Staff, senatecos@ku.edu
