Course Description: Secondary Math 3 Honors prepares students for college and career readiness. It contains content in number and quantity, algebra, functions, modeling, geometry, and statistics and probability. Students expant their repertoire of functions to include polynomial, rational, and radical functions. It encourages students to make sense of problems and persevere in solving them. Note: There is not a state approved textbook for Secondary Math 3. Students will be relying heavily on class notes and hand-outs. Calculators: Graphing calculators will be used frequently in Math 3. Students may purchase their own graphing calculator or may check one out. Supplies Needed: 3-ring binder ( 1.5 or above) This should be used for math only Lined paper 8 x 11 in. graph paper Calculator Classroom rules: Be respectful Be productive and turn things in on time Follow directions Come prepared The LHS Electronics Policy, Dress Code Policy, and Attendance policy will be joyfully followed in this class, supporting a climate of classroom learning Grading: 30% Assignments & In-class work 15% Quizzes (cumulative) 55% Tests Grading Scale: A A93% 90% B+ B B88% 84% 80% C+ C C78% 74% 70% D+ D D65% 60% 55% F: 0%

Tardy and Attendance Policy: Due to the importance of classroom participation, students are expected to attend class and arrive on time. The design of this course emphasizes group work and development of understanding through in-class tasks. Many in-class tasks are group tasks that cannot be made up at home. Homework & Test Policies: Homework will be assigned daily and turned in each week as a packet. It is essential that students complete homework on the day that it is assigned with careful attention to precision and accuracy. Homework will be scored by the student and will often be graded on an on your honor basis. Please be meticulous with due dates only one late packet per quarter will be accepted. Parents: If a student will be gone for a significant period of time due to illness or vacation, please contact the teacher either through e-mail or phone.
