LeClairs Grading Policy

Grading Scale Points will be given for homework, quizzes, class discussions, papers, group projects, unit tests, and so on. This grading scale should look familiar: A = 90% to 100% B = 80% to 89% C = 70% to 79% D = 60% to 69% F = below 60% Participation You are strongly encouraged to participate on a daily basis in class discussions, group work, text rendering, and so on. I value the knowledge you bring into the classroom, and by sharing it with the class, you will enrich our learning experiences. Not to mention class will be much more fun. Late work (This is important) Late work drives me crazy! However, I do feel it is important that every student do their best to complete every assignment. Therefore, I will accept any late work related to the current unit. But there is a catch. Once the due date for an assignment has passed, you will lose two full letter grades from your earned score. (Remember a D is better than a 0. Turning in every assignment should be an important goal for you.) Absences Your attendance is crucial to your success in this class. However, if you must be absent, it is your responsibility to find out what happened when you were gone. I will not track you down to tell you about your assignments. It is also important to realize that for every excused absence you will have one day to make up your work. If a situation comes up which makes it difficult for you to complete an assignment, speak with me about it before the due date so we can accommodate you. Extra Credit There is none. You should be focused on completing every assignment. Helpful Hint: I do not GIVE grades in this class, you EARN them. I hope you do your best to earn a grade that you can be proud of.
