Characteristics of an Organizational Chart 1.

Division of work the BHD organizational chart shows division of work since they are divided into different departments responsible for a certain/given task. For example, the administrative department is divided into three sub units where work is distributed among the 3 namely financial or building maintenance or transportation, supply or property, personnel or records. 2. Chain of Command it is observed since the line of the departments are connected to the lines of the city government assistant department head II who at the same time is connected to the city government department head II who is of the highest rank. This means that each of those in the lower hierarchy reports to their superior or those in the higher ranks should be responsible in giving tasks or monitoring their sub-ranks. 3. Type of work to be Performed labels found on the top portion of each box indicates the specific task they should accomplish 4. Grouping of work segment under each specific tasks are departments or a single unit grouped under their corresponding tasks 5. Levels of Management it is presented by presence of hierarchy wherein levels of authority are arranged in a vertical or pyramidal manner to show ranking one is above the other and the superior is found at the top of the pyramid.
