KITCHEN & BARS FIFTH ANNUAL ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATO FESTIVAL RAISES $30,000 FOR GEORGIA ORGANICS Atlantas Top Chefs and Mixologists Engage in Friendly Tomato-Themed Competition for a Good Cause ATLANTA (August 14, 2013) The Fifth Annual Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival at JCT. Kitchen & Bar, held on Sunday, July 21, 2013, featured 40 of the Souths best chefs, 14 skilled mixologists and over 20 farmers who joined forces to benefit Georgia Organics. The event was a hit over 1,300 guests attended, raising $30,000 for Georgia Organics. As a result of this years incredible success, Festival founder Ford Fry of JCT. Kitchen & Bar, No. 246, The Optimist and St. Cecilia is already busy planning next years event and has set the date for Sunday, July 20, 2014. The Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival is an excellent opportunity for chefs and attendees to meet local producers and develop longstanding relationships in order to further support the local food movement. Each year, some of Atlantas most talented chefs and mixologists are paired with local farmers to create over-the-top tomato dishes and cocktails for guests to sample. This year, Garden & Gun deputy editor Dave Mezz, Food & Wine associate food editor Daniel Gritzer, Esquire restaurant features writer John Mariani and James Beard Award-winning authors Matt and Ted Lee served as judges and chose the top dishes and drinks of the day. Event attendees voted for their favorites. Award winners from this year include:

Best Tasting Dish: Asha Gomez of Cardamom Hill won with stuffed cherry tomatoes on a bed of tomato rice. Partner farm: Watsonia Farms.

Best Tasting Cocktail: Stuart White of Miller Union created the Heirloom Reviver, made with paQui Tequila tomato water (infused with Thai basil and culantro) lime and agave. Partner farms: Love is Love Farm, Rise N Shine Organic Farm, Serenbe Farms and Woodland Gardens. People's Choice Best Tasting Cocktail: Eduardo Guzman of JCT. Kitchen & Bar, The Optimist made the Farmers Revenge with Farmers Botanical Small Batch Organic Gin infused with raspberries, Domaine de Canton, dill, heirloom tomatoes, lemon, black pepper and basil seeds. Partner farm: Dillwood Farms. People's Choice Best Tasting Dish: Chris Hall of Local Three prepared caprese ice cream with tomato, ricotta and basil ice creams, parmesan oil and balsamic.
