Cavaliers Bass Cadence

Bass Drum

When you come in you play measure 1, after that you repeat bar 2 forever until you want to be done. As far as when you should come in, it's as if each person starts the pattern one beat behind the guy before him. The guy who explained it to me was a bass vet and at the time this is what he said: 5 starts, 1 comes in on 8, 2, comes in on 12, 3 on count 15, and 4 was on count 20. After everybody was in bass 1 did whatever he wanted as far as a solo and ramming notes. The counts might be off, I was explained this about 6 years ago, you'll just have to play around with it. As far as its origin, I don't know when they started playing it, some time in the late 80's early 90's. I've heard people say that they came up with it after sitting around listening to the crickets. The most not fake story is that it was part of another cadence or just another bass cadence called Iowa.....I don't know for sure, email a Cavy vet or go here: http://www.geocities.com/cavies_98 -AZ AZ@LotPatrol.com
