Plant Processes This is a 1 MGD plant which includes influent bar screening, primary clarification, trickling filtration, secondary clarification, extended aeration, chlorination and de-chlorination, anaerobic sludge digestion and sludge drying beds. Design incoming combined sludge to the anaerobic digesters averages about 4% solids by weight and enters the facilities at a rate of 1,200 GPD. Anaerobic Digestion Equipment OTI equipment was selected as part of a new digester addition. A new 45 diameter concrete tank was constructed and an OTI Model 45F fixed steel digester was installed on the new tank. The cover is designed for a 16 W.C. internal design pressure. This new digester will function as a primary digester in series with an existing 45 digester which has an existing gasholder cover in operation.

Completed fixed cover was lifted into place after final paint coats were completed.

Completed fixed cover with Model 2EX mechanical sludge mixer Shiprock in the background.

To mix the new primary digester, (2) two 7 horsepower 2-speed OTI Model 2EX mechanical sludge mixers were installed. Each of the Model 2EX mixers is designed with a heat exchange jacket as part of the mixer draft tube. The heat exchange jackets are each rated for 300,000 Btu/hr with sludge circulating through the draft tube at a nominal rate of 9,000 GPM. With both mixers operating, the Model EX mixers will circulate the sludge at a rate sufficient to turn the contents of this tank over every 20 minutes.

Finished installation during final grading and landscaping.
