    Fort Worth Hosting United League Finals The first championship series of the year was scheduled to begin Thursday night with regular-season champion Fort Worth (49-30) hosting Edinburg (41-39) for the entire best-of-five series in what turned out to be an all-Texas United League. All other Independent leagues run into the first week of September.
