HughUnfollow Follow Hugh Hugh Leyton Hi Mubarak, Are you talking about Motors or Generators. ? What Frequency will you get from a 4-pole Alternator, rotating at 1,500 rpm .. ? A 4-pole alternator will have, two "N" and two "S" polls. So 1,500 rpm is 25 revolutions / Second. But if it rotates through two N - S reversals each revolution, it will give out 2 x 25 = 50 Hz Now increase the alternator Speed to 1,800 rpm. ! 1 day ago Unlike Like

Ing. OleUnfollow Follow Ing. Ole Ing. Ole Knudsen If you have 10 poles on a motor connected to 50Hz, it will have a synchronous speed of 600RPM, and 12 poles connected to 60Hz will likewise give you a synchronous RPM of 600. It all follows the relationship n(rpm) = (60*f)/p, where n is the synchronous speed in RPM, f is frequency in Hz, and p is the number of poles of the machine. The lowest number of poles resulting in identical synchronous RPM for 50 and 60 Hz is 10 and 12, respectively. 1 day ago Unlike Like

How ever if these poles are not available the you can change speed of two machines to give necessary speed. Go by the formula 120f/p as RPM. Remember P is always even number. 5 hours ago Unlike Like
