Background of the Topic Electricity Theft is very common problem in countries like Philippines, where population is very high

and the users of electricity is very tremendous. Electricity theft can be in a form of fraud (meter tampering), illegal connections (jumper), unpaid bills and billing irregularities. In Philippines particularly Metro Manila shows that power theft is rapidly increasing in those who live in squatter area and is near residential areas. Thus for common people it is not easy to find out that there are illegal wire cables connected in your main distribution line for power stealing. So this research initiate to determine the possibility for end-users to detect power theft, what factors are to be considered and how it would be affect the industry involved. These days the ways using which theft can be done for stealing power are innumerable so we can never keep track of how a theft has occurred. Finding new ways or innovations maybe an option to this unsolved issue.
