8th Grade Pre-Algebra / Algebra 1

Dear Parent / Guardian, To help us better communicate with you, would you please send an email containing your child's name, your names, and a phone number to greg.mcginnis@sccboe.org. We would like to give you an overview of my class and present my expectations of your child. ** Homework is posted on http://gregmcginnis.stclaircountyschools.wikispaces.net. Homework. We give homework almost everyday. It will be marked off for being late. If a student is absent, it is their responsibility to complete missed work within a few days. Supplies. They should bring their book, binder, graph paper, and pencils to class everyday. Binder. All tests, notes, reviews, and homework are to be kept in the binder. Graph paper. Everything in my class must be on graph paper. Tests. We usually allow my students to correct their tests using notes. They earn half credit for every problem that is properly corrected. Showing work. All work must be shown. Tutoring. Ms. Sublett and I are available from 3 to 4 on Wednesdays to help any students. The general rules of my classroom are: Be in your seat and quiet when the bell rings. Bring your supplies to class everyday. Raise your hand to speak when appropriate. No bags of any kind are to be brought into the classroom. Please feel free to contact us anytime you have a question.
