Intercede with Us for the Muslim World!

23 August 2013

I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations I have made you a light to the Gentiles, to bring salvation to the farthest corners of the earth (Jer 1:5; Ac 13:47, NLT). Pray this week that churches in Muslim lands will be like the church in Antioch: strong, united, bold in the midst of persecution, and zealous to reach the lost around them.*

Today's Prayer Requests: From Students, Alumni, and Missionaries

BENIN: A student asks for prayer for a Muslim man who came to his church seeking healing. God touched the man's body, but he is afraid to commit himself to the Lord, citing fears that his house will be burned down. Pray that the Holy Spirit will touch his heart and mind with the Truth that overcomes all fear. GUINEA-CONAKRY: A student reports that in the past month 18 churches and 6 pastor's residences or offices have been burned. He asks us to pray that the Spirit of God will work in the hearts of His servants to reach Muslims. INDONESIA: A missionary asks us to pray that the Lord will touch many through radio broadcasts targeting the Mandailing people of Northern Sumatra Province. This people group is part of the Batak peoples of this region. While most Batak sub-groups have been open to the gospel, the Mandailing cling to a mixture of Islam and animistic beliefs. NIGER: This week a kid's camp has been in session in one city, with nearly 250 children. Please pray for God's protection over the children and workers alike, and that the Holy Spirit will move in their lives and in the community. NORTHERN GHANA: A student pastoring here asks for prayer for a young lady who has accepted Jesus. Her parents want her to marry a Muslim man and have threatened to destroy the church that, they claim, is making their daughter disobedient. Please pray for the Lord's intervention, for wisdom for the pastor, courage for this young lady, and the salvation of the parents. SENEGAL: In May we prayed that God would encourage a young Muslim lady who feared her parents would persecute her if they knew she followed Jesus. Her pastor writes, We thank God for His work. [This young lady] has given her life to the Lord and has even come to the church to respond to the call to salvation. May the Lord be praised. Thank you for your prayers. Please continue to pray for the spiritual growth of this lady.

For Muslim Women***

Please pray that, as Muslim women spend considerable time and effort on matters of outward beauty, they will yearn for significance that goes beyond the realms of physical beauty, and that they will find their true worth in Jesus Christ.
