Introduction of Entrepreneur :

The word Entrepreneur has been taken from the French word Entreprendre which means to undertake.In the early 16th century it was applied to persons engaged in military expenditions.It was extended to cover construction & other civilengineering activities in the 17th century.It was only in the 18th century that the word was used to refer to economic activities. : According R.D.Hisrich : The person who is going to establish a successful new business venture must also be a visionary leader a person who dreams great dreams.

Calculated Risk taker : The Entrepreneur has the ability to take calculated risks with confidence to achieve a industrial objectives

 Innovation : The Entrepreneur always give introduction of new goods & of new methods of productions. Self-confident : He must have belief in themselves & ability to achieve the goals. Hardworker : He is willingness to work hard until the achieve his goal. Independence : He has been that they donot like a guided by others & follow their routine. ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES (EDPs) : Ii Introduction : you have learnt that an Entrepreneur is a person with a vision,with the drive & ability to bear risk. Entrepreneurship development has become a matter of great concern in all developed & developing countries all over the world. But the real problem is how to develop Entrepreneurship. EDPs are deemed to offer the solution to this problem.

Definition : It as programme designed to help a person in in strengthening his Entrepreneur motives,skills ,qualities & capabilities essential for playing his Entrepreneurial role effectively. Objectives : To encourages students : To motivate & encourage the students become a successful Entrepreneur. Helps in decision making : It enables the Entrepreneur in deciding the type & nature of product,size of the business scale, financial resources etc. Effective communication : It enable students to communicate clearly, quickly & effectively. Identifying sources of support : It also give information to help & support available to start a small scale industry. Determine the objectives : It help the students in setting or resetting the objectives of the business.
