5 Grade Newsletter

Dear Parents, In an continued effort to go green, and to better utilize our school website, class newsletters will be sent home on a monthly, rather than weekly basis, beginning in September. However, please know that if you have any questions/concerns, I am always an email away! Just a reminder, emergency bags are due on Friday the 30th. If you havent turned one in, please do so ASAP. Students attended an assembly last Friday discussing a new PRIDE Ticket rewards system that we will be implementing immediately. Please ask you child about it! One of area our Wedgeworth P.R.I.D.E. focuses on is our uniform policy. Please know that we will be rewarding students who are following our dress code! Please be reminded that breakfast is served at 7:30 a.m., and students should be at school by 7:55. Any student who is not in the room by 8:00 is considered tardy.

Weekly Curriculum
Language Arts/Writing: - Volcanoes. Comprehension focus: categorize/classify and monitor/clarify. Test on Tuesday - Writing: narrative writing- brainstorm and planning phase Math: - Continue Chapter 3: test on Tuesday - Begin chapter 4: Divide by 1- and 2- digit divisors Science: - Conclude Chapter 7: The Solar System, test on Wednesday.
