Welcome to our Weekly Wrap-up Classroom Newsletter. Here you will find a recap of some o f the major things we covered this past week. This newsletter will also include test alerts, upcoming events, and any major assignments that I am expecting you to work on. This week we had fun learning about the Fertile Crescent and the Code of Hammurabi. We used dramatization to extend our learning of Hammurabis reign and had fun learning about how much the world revolves around a teacher (when he is Hammurabi). We finally completed our Personal Goal Essays and have worked hard to learn paragraph formatting, editing, and the writing style of an informative essay. We also started a new math unit on perimeter and area and, in science we had a pretest on our knowledge of the moon. Next week we are looking forward to starting a new unit on our moon and continuing our writing coursework with a new creative writing assignment. We will also expand our learning of perimeter and area work from rectangles to triangles and parallelograms. It is a pleasure to have such a wonderful group of kids in my classroom. Student Reminders:
Personal Goal Essay Final Draft is due on Tuesday September 3rd. Getting all planners signed for a continent is worth a bead. Bring Tennis shoes Tuesday and Wednesday of next week Class website has new material for Social Studies and Math review.
