TBVN
A computer program to calculate WKI and SLHV is available from GE Energy Sales Application Engineering. An on-site detonation sweep must be performed at the highest operating temperatures and at rated load to verify a minimum knock margin of 6. Timing to be retarded as necessary. Site condition derates apply as follows: (Ref. S-8154-6)
Ambient Air Temp. Altitude Jacket Water Temp. 1% per 10F (5.5C) above 100F (38C) 2% per 1000 ft (305 m) above 1500 ft (450 m) for > 38 WKI 2% per 1000 ft (305 m) above 5000 ft (1525 m) for 38 WKI 2.5% per 10F (5.5C) above 180F (82C), up to 210F (99C) Max, for < 65 WKI

4. 5. 6.

Ratings apply for fuels above 650 BTU/SCF (25.55 MJ/m3) SLHV. For fuels outside the ranges covered here contact GE Energy Sales Application Engineering. Reference S-7884-7 (or latest revision) in the Fuels and Lubrication Section of the General Technical Data Manual for allowable fuel heating value changes.
