COURSE OBJECTIVES:
This course will present the fundamental concepts of probability and statistics from an engineering prospective, emphasizing applications. The objectives of this course will be implemented by the use of lectures, work examples and homework.

HOMEWORK
Homework will be assigned and will not be collected in class. One or two of the assigned problems will be collected with each exam. The problems will graded with the exam and will be worth an additional (bonus) five points each. The assigned problems must be turned in with the exam and will not be accepted at any other time.

EXAM DATES and AREAS COVERED:


Exams will be closed book, closed notes, but tables may be used as appropriate. Be sure to bring your calculator and book (table use necessary). There will be ABSOLUTELY no sharing among students.

FINAL EXAM
The final exam will consist of 4 modules including the areas covered in Exam 1 (I, 40 points), Exam 2 + Exam 3 (II, 60 points), Exam 4 (III, 50 points) and Chapter 6 (IV, 50 points). Students with a score of 86 or higher (A-) on any particular module may choose not to take that module, the weight of the exam being reduced accordingly. All students must take module IV.
