This guide is designed to help you configure wireless security on a router. This is a general tutorial, and should give you an idea of how to configure most routers. If in doubt, see the owner's manual of the router or give us a call.

Connecting to the router

Note: In order to change the settings of your router, you will need to use a computer that is connected to the router either directly or wirelessly. 1. From an internet browser type your router's IP address in the address bar 192.168.1.1

2. Enter your username and password: Username: admin Password: admin

3. Find the wireless settings wherever they may be located.

4. Look for "Wireless security." 5. Enable encryption by choosing your wireless security mode. Your options may look different than the ones below, depending on your router. Typically I prefer "WPA2" or "WPA". Generally you should not chose "disabled" or "WEP" as they are not secure.

6. Type in a password

7. Save settings

You're finished! You may need to "forget the network" on your devices and reconnect.
