    The Committee on Information Technology has introduced a revised syllabus and background materials for the Post Qualification Course on Information Systems Audit (ISA) beginning with training batches in April 2010. The revised syllabus restructures the module topics and percentages of exam questions. Candidates who completed training before March 2010 will have three attempts to take exams with the existing syllabus through December 2011 after which all candidates must use the revised syllabus.     Revised Syllabus and Background Materials for the Post Qualification Course on

    Information Systems Audit (ISA)


    The Committee on Information Technology is pleased to introduce the Revised Syllabus and thoroughly revised Background Materials for the Post Qualification Course on Information Systems Audit (ISA) for the ISA Professional Training Batches from April 2010. The following table lists the revised course modules, percentage of questions that would be set in the ISA ET & AT and their mapping with old syllabus:

    Hence the ISA Eligibility Test from November 2010 and the ISA Assessment Test from December 2010 would be organized with the revised syllabus and materials. Notwithstanding launch of new syllabus, candidates of the ISA course who have completed the Professional Training before 31st March, 2010, will be given three attempts to take the examinations with the existing syllabus as follows:
    Exam 1. 2. ISA Eligibility Test ISA Assessment Test 1st Attempt Nov-2010 Dec-2010 2nd Attempt May-2011 Jun-2011 3rd Attempt Nov-2011 Dec-2011

    Thereafter, candidates would have to take the ISA Eligibility Test and Assessment Test with the revised syllabus and materials. It may be incidentally mentioned that the revised syllabus incorporates renumbering of modules to reflect better course coverage, shifting of topics from one module to another to reflect current state of technology and incremental content of about 10% while the materials have been re-written to reflect the current technology trends and make it more relevant for the profession. Hence, it is advisable for candidates to shift to the revised syllabus, even though the above facility of taking the tests with existing syllabus has been extended. The revised ISA Background Materials are available in the sale counters of the Institute and can also be ordered from Noida Sale Counter of the Institute.
