Maria Del Carmen Modesto Mrs. Bell English IV, Per.6 28 August 2013 THE MIGHTY THOR The character Thor is one of the superheroes that I admire. His history surprised me in every way, that is why Ive chose him. The history of Thor was based on the idea of the Greek God of thunder. Then the story became and the ideas of giving him a hammer became later. The cloth his wearing became later too. But, the idea that was the most important one is to give him the most powerful thing ever and thats how they came with his name, The Mighty Thor. The History of Comic Books The history of comic books starts when the idea of making people want to read. Then they thought that the histories just with all that writing for more interesting that they were they looked boring. So some of the makers came with the idea of putting pictures in them, but not in a normal way. They wanted to caught more attention so they decided to make the stories like a movie, they putted pictures in everything that was happening; the quotes, the most important event, everything. Effectively the pictures worked, and they worked so well that many comic books became very famous by the early 1930s and 1940s, during World War II they became stars. The superheroes were famous also but, the comic books were about many things not only the superheroes they were about religions, politics, television programs and more. newspapers, and even other books were talking about how awesome were the new comic books back then. The idea of the superheroes was based on the teen agers and also how much crime was in the cities. The authors also wanted more attention so they did what everyone was expecting; they did something very fresh, new, and different compared to the things that were usual. The superheroes became known. The different ideas of the people were putted together; the idea of someone who would always stop the crime, the one that had a different looking, the one with the superpowers and the good looking also were the superheroes characteristics. Although the superheroes were created, the comic books still popular enough for all the ages, young people, children, adults and even older people were every interested in the comic books because they were the only entertainment they had, with newspapers and television; the comic books were the thing that surprised everyone because they were fun to read and also they had the people waiting for what was coming after each story. Anyways the comic books became known in all around the world and after that some of the authors had the idea to present newer stuff to the people during a certain time. Some of the writers decided to publish the comic books with a continuation and after a month or two or three weeks publish the continuation of that and so on. So the people were just waiting for the stories and for the continuation of it. The comic books now were more a novel type but, this gave results. And that is how the history of many famous characters of the comics are so long. The comics had such a big impact that now days there is people that have a collection on many comics. The comics are so old that some can cost much money but, this is not important for the people that collect them because they know very well the value of the comic.

Technology had advanced so much compared with the things that had back then and the thing that now we have. The technology brought many benefits with it in many ways and one of them is the new way that we can read comic books. Now we dont have to go to the store and buy them in paper and then we have all that stack of used books; now we can download them, and we can find them out for free or we can also buy them if we want to. This is how the history of comics had change that much that now everything has a big impact on them, and it has change that much that some of the movies that now we watch and some old ones also were inspired in comic books. Almost everyone knows a superhero movie, and those movies were based in comics, yes in those old books. That is how the comic books had beneficiated us. Author Information The creators of the Mighty Thor are Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. They said that the idea of Thor was based on the Greek God of thunder. They both believed that Thor would be one of those that called the attention of the readers and those details were the ones that they were looking for. After that both agreed on the name that was related to his history in a way. However after thinking on the name both of the authors related Thor as one of the superheroes that had personal involvement with themselves, and that they passionately believed that many people like their superheroes to have depth, vulnerability and flaws have to be vexed beneath the spandex; and by this they are both saying that the looking is not that important. The authors also related Thor as one of their most beautiful creations, and that has more reality with his family and how the character is involved in real world. Review This superhero is the Asgardian (the name of his land Asgard) God of thunder; he is the son of Odin the father of all Asgardand Gaea and his mother Gea, later on he was adopted by

Frigga, because he was born on earth and combined with the powers of a human and a God that would be the perfect creation for the power that he would have. In his eight-birthday his father gave him his hammer the one that he created. But he had a brother. His step brother was always jealous oh him and he would always be bothering Thor, his name was Loki, who became his enemy later. Thor also had more family, Balder his step brother, and later on he had a daughter named Torunn. Those were the family member of whom the name was very recognized in the earth and in Asgard. Thor is the EarthGoddes who combining the power of these two worlds the earth and Asgard became one of the greatest defenders of both worlds. Thor the mightiest warrior of Asgard and one of the founding members of the avengers became one of the most powerful beings on Earth. This review of his life shows how powerful Thor is in both of the worlds that he lived in and how much respect they had for him in both worlds. It also shows that he did not had any difficulties with his enemies and the ones that were against him and against any of the powers he had. The idea of the Mighty Thor was very popular and it is still; when the authors put both on the thoughts then, Thor was created and his story also. His story became known in many places of the world and then his comic book also. In my opinion this comic book was very interesting because the story putted much effort in making the readers want to keep on reading. The adventures that are described in the comic book are also described very well and that is how the readers want to read more. It is also making the person who is reading get more into the story because it also has suspense and that is what the story is all about, suspense.

The story is helpful also because it contains the positive and negative effects that life has. It also has some examples of what real life is, for example the acts that we do and the consequences that those acts can bring with it, it also shows us on how to deal with problems and have a natural reaction when we face them. This comic book was very good compared to others that I have read before, because it has more impact and more suspense on what the characters do. The story is also based on more reality than what comic books normally have. It is the right thing to do that when reading any story we relate it to something that we have in our lives and that is how I liked it because I found many things in the story that are similar to other things as we know them. Summary The comic book name is The Mighty Thor and it talks about how he came into the earth and the activities that he normally does. It gives us the needed information that the reader needs to know about the characters and what the readers need to know to understand what is happening in the story. It talks about the adventures in the Earth and what is happening at his fathers kingdom. It also talks about his enemies and what he is doing to get in front of them. The comic book also shows how to be patient and show respect to other people. The Mighty Thor is much more interesting than other comic heroes that is one of the reasons a chose him, anyways the comic was good because it had all the information that I need it to know and that some readers want to have to make it more outgoing with many of the personalities that we know. Comic books are always good because they are way that we can have fun in a safe place reading peacefully and have a good time interested in what we are doing.
