Grade 2 (2R & 2G) Homework (Week 3):

Distributed: Friday, September 6th Due: Friday, September, 13th 1. Literacy: Read your leveled reading book aloud to your parents for 15-20 minutes per night. Remember to fill out your reading log. Turn in your reading log on Friday. 2. Spelling: Go to the Spelling City Website at: http://www.spellingcity.com/grade2bifs/ Then
click on your Spelling List. Try 2-3 activities per week. There will be a spelling quiz on Friday, August 30th.

3. Literacy: Each time you read this week, have your parents ask you some of the Book Talk questions. Answer them orally. 4. Field Trip: if you plan on joining the overnight trip to Goeje Island, please turn in the 140,000 won into your homeroom teacher by FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 13th. 5. Mathletics: using your new Mathletics user name and password which your teacher gave you this week, log into your account and complete the following sections in Addition and Subtraction All about Ten; Addition Facts to 18; and Addictive Addition.

Optional Bonus Homework: (for stickers and/or prizes) Literacy: Make a wordsearch or crossword puzzle using at least 6 or 7 of your spelling words. PYP: As we are learning about the skeletal system, it would be helpful to learn more about fractured or broken bones. Prepare a 2-3 minute presentation teaching your classmates what a fractured or broken bone looks like, why it happens, how it heals, and other interesting information relating to this topic. Prepare 1-2 visuals and practict your presentation. You may also have your parents record the presentation on a USB and we can show it on the Smartboard if you prefer. PYP: Create a poster about one or some of the bones or groups of bones (skull, spine, ribs, patella, femur, tibia or humerus) that we are currently learning about in the skeletal system. Include labels, cool or fun facts, printed or sketched pictures, diagrams, etc. Be prepared to present your poster to your classmates. Mathletics: Play Mathletics Live for 15-20 minutes each night and practice your addition facts. Charity: Using the website, free.com, answers questions on subjects and topics of your choice to donate rice to the World Food Program to help end hunger.
