MARLBORO DUKES SAVE MODIFIED SPORTS

September 5, 2013 Dear Marlboro Community Member: As you are likely aware, the 2013-2014 Marlboro School Budget does not provide funding for any modified sports. We are attempting to save modified sports for the Marlboro Middle School students, starting with the 2013-2014 basketball season. The School District has informed us that the cost of the boys and girls modified basketball program is $14,500, which needs to be raised by midOctober. Fundraising is a major challenge and time is of the essence. Our fundraising activities will include numerous sweat equity events over the next six weeks, to include car washes, dinners at local restaurants and a 3 on 3 basketball tournament. But time is extremely short, so we must also depend on the generosity and donations from individuals and local businesses like you to help us reach our goal. We hope you will consider supporting this worthy cause. All donations, no matter how modest, are greatly appreciated, and may qualify as a charitable deduction for tax purposes. Checks should be made payable directly to the Marlboro Central School District and will be delivered for deposit only if and when our goal has been reached.
