    Amongst the RFPs that I have used for the assignment The proposed Kolkata environmental improvement investment programme was the one containing maximum relevant information which was missing the most in The international ship repair facility project at cochin port trust And Phase 1 A work for academic building ,hostel building ,faculty and staff housing ,indoor sports center ,ancillary building along with external development and all engineering services

    Points like Tentative commencement date, Anticipated completion date , Duration of assignment,
    Selection method Type of consultants and the project Funded by were not mentioned in any RFP other than Kolkata environmental improvement investment programme. The only point not mentioned in it was about the pre bid meeting and time provided for downloading EOI (which was not mentioned).

    Estimated Project Cost :


    The estimated project cost again was missing in 3 out of the 5 RFPs which was again a point of concern ,since a consultant can not decide the amount to be submitted along with proposal for the certain project

    On an average 25-30 days are given for submission of the EOI which was quite similar in all the projects.

    Different projects are advertised by different ranking officers ranking from Chief engineer to Project director to general manager in the RFPs that I have studied ,which is usually the highest ranking officer of the firm.

    Conclusion : Amongst all the RFPs the one funded by Asian development bank has been the one which provide maximum information at advertisement level ,while others show the deficiency at the advertisement level itself. if I have to bid for these projects I might not choose to bid for the other projects since no tentative dates or the estimated cost is provided, which may cause a lot of misunderstanding in identifying the scope of work at a later stage. Also if these is the level of deficiency at this stage, one can only imagine how deficient it can get as the project proceeds.
