    NGR CALCULATION FOR ABU AL ABYAD GENERATOR

    Generator capacity 2.5 MVA Rated voltage =11 kv Rated current 131 amp Earth fault current limitation < 100 amp

    Earth fault current = (11000/1.732)/R Where R is value of Neutral grounding resistance

    Therefore.

    100 = (11000/1.732)/R 100 = 6350/R R = 6350/100 =63.5 ohm Therefore Required value of Neutral grounding resistance to limit the ground fault to 100 amp = 63 ohm for 10 second
