Self- Actualization
Self -Actualization has been hard for me. I have established self-concept based on flaws, I observed as a child. I did not want to be like my peers or guardians. Guardians, role models and parents should help a child reach their full potential. Without positive influence, an individuals character can be tainted. Society, family and reality can cause a person to give up on any form of concept.

Self- actualization may cause anxiety and our frustration, (ArgosyOnline2010). Maslow defines self- Actualization to be the desire for self-fulfillment, (ArgosyOnline2010). Positive attributes need to be a part of Childs everyday goals. Based on lectures and required chapter readings, every individual reaches his or her self-actualization the best way they know how. Humans need love, respect and a general self concept to grow. Thos will help an individual reach his or her goals. Barack Obama stated early in his election, that he was his mothers life. He knew he was loved. He always wanted to please her. He understood at an early age, the sacrifices she made for him. This had to be a positive antecedent in his self-actualization. Based on Maslows Self-Actualization, Barack Obama had a positive role model that allowed him to explore and enjoy life. He also knew he wanted to prove to his family that he would not let them down. Barack Obama pushed through life and he met diversity in his education. Nevertheless, he pushed through his difficult times and reached his highest potential. Empathy for humanity has been one of his remarkable attributes. A need for positive regard can make or break a nonprofessional, (Argosy Online2010).
