PTC Job report - Free hanging piling

32HFV extracting 24m long sheet piles in Helsinki city center, Finland
In a business parc located near Helsinkis city center, a new building for offices has been constructed. Near the end of the job, the contractor Lemminkinen needed to extract numerous sheet piles that were driven in the ground several months ago.
The extraction work was particularly difficult, because the ground mainly composed of clay, has strongly dried and sticked on to the 24 m long sheet piles (2 x 12m welded sheet piles). In addition the sheet piles had been severely deformed by the previous use of a hammer, and their deformed shape made their extraction even more difficult. The contractor has chosen to for do this job a PTC 32HFV Vibrodriver mounted free hanging on a 60 t Kobelco crane, and powered by a PTC 650CO power pack (403 kW). The PTC Vibrodriver worked day and night and overcome the extraction of a total of 150 sheet piles.
