My Homework

*Read every night

I am hoping for you to read at least 20 minutes per night. A requirement in 3rd grade is to read 400 minutes a month. This is required homework A reading calendar is due every month.

*Practice your spelling and high frequency words every night

Spelling and High Frequency Words come home on Monday. By Friday, third graders must know how to spell all of the words on BOTH lists. This will require practice time at home throughout the week.

Decodable Book
These small books go along with our reading series. They focus on the skill of the week. These books stay at home in a special spot. Half sheet due next Monday.

Tuesday Wednesd ay Thursday Friday

Tuck Me In Tuesday
Third graders get the night off! Mom, dad, grandma, brother, or anyone at home gets to read a story! Send the book back tomorrow.

Grammar Wednesday
Students will bring home and complete a practice page on a weekly grammar topic. These are due on Thursday.

Fluency Folder
These folders will come home every Thursday. Practice the poem/short story as instructed. Send the folders back tomorrow!

Friday Journal
Parents, its your turn! Please respond to your child by writing back to him/her in their Friday Journal.
