Will Broten Stand Up To Mulcair on His Economic Policies? The Saskatchewan Party is calling on NDP Leader Cam Broten to join with Premier Brad Wall in telling federal NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair that his Dutch disease economic theory and his opposition to the Keystone pipeline are bad for Saskatchewan. Mulcair is in Saskatoon this week for caucus meetings. Mr. Mulcair has said he believes that our strong resource sector in the west is driving up the Canadian dollar and killing manufacturing jobs in the east, said Energy and Resources Minister Tim McMillan. Mr. Mulcair is also against construction of the Keystone XL pipeline and has even gone to Washington to lobby against it, while Premier Wall and other Canadian leaders have been pushing for it. The federal NDP Leader is wrong on both counts. You dont help one part of the country by harming another part of the country. The question today is is Cam Broten going to stand up to his federal Leader and tell him hes wrong? Yesterday, Premier Brad Wall met with Mulcair for the first time and expressed his disagreement with Mulcairs economic and resource policies. We have a Premier who always puts Saskatchewans interests first, McMillan said. Its time for Cam Broten to start showing some leadership.
