EPIDERMIS
Terdiri dari lapisan2 epitel squamosa berkeratin (protein keras dan berserat berfungsi proteksi) Tipe sel : 1) Keratinosit (90%, tdr dari protein keratin dan granula lamelar) 2) Melanosit (8%, warna kulit, mbtk veil utk proteksi DNA pd sisi yg terkena UV) 3) Sel Langerhans (sistem imun-> alert system) 4) Sel Merkel (least, deepest, tactile disc)

STRATUM BASALE
1 baris sel keratinosit kuboidal

STRATUM SPINOSUM
8-10 lapis keratinosit More superficial : more flatenned Terdapat sel langerhans dan proyeksi melanosit Provide both strength and fleksibility of the skin

STRATUM GRANULOSUM
3-5 lapis flattened keratinosit menuju apoptosis Makin jauh dari sumber nutrisi Terdapat lamela granula (lipid rich secretion -> water-repellent sealant)

STRATUM LUCIDUM
Hanya tampak pada area kulit yang relatif tebal seperti ujung jari, telapak tangan dan tumit. Terdiri dari 4-6 sel keratinosit mati
