Advertisement to Participate in a Research Project ARE YOU INTERESTED IN A PROJECT WHICH PROVIDES STUDENTS WITH A FRAMEWORK for UNIVERSAL

HISTORY?
Research shows that students have difficulty understanding the overall flow of historic events. Are you interested in an alternative way of communicating the flow of events from Big Bang to the Present? Everything from star creation, evolution of life, development of mankind and great inventions, through to the Arts, Philosophy and World Politics? This project examines providing students with a mental model of this Universal History which they can call upon for the rest of their lives.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO PARTICIPATE IN AN EDUCATIONAL GAME WHICH PROVIDES A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT WAY FOR STUDENTS TO VISUALISE TIME?
This Educational Game is the opposite of Trivia...students will need almost no knowledge. This game teaches them about when key events occurred and how they fit together. It is a Sci-Fi fantasy race through time with fun cartoon characters who need rescuing. But at the same time, it aims to reinforce a completely different way of visualising time ... simplifying events and clarifying all those confusing timescales and dates.

There is a payment of $30 plus a chance to win a $100 door prize

As part of the Faculty of Human Science, Macquarie University, this is an Educational Project (rather than History) research project. Therefore your experience and input will be greatly appreciated and later you may consider it appropriate for further research within your school. We are looking for 15 people available for three sessions over a 2 weeks. You will participate in the tests (which ultimately may be used by students to establish the effectiveness of the Educational Game). These are recorded in confidence in line with the University Research Ethical Requirements If this sounds like something you (perhaps with a friend or colleague) would be interested in please email paul.ohara@students.mq.edu.au or text your email address (right now !) to 0408 213 862 and I will email you back with more details.
