ATTY. AMADO D. VALDEZ Chairman, Board of Regents This University Thru: ATTY. CARLOS M. CARLOS BOR Secretary Sir: Greetings in the Spirit of the Peoples Law School! The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila - College of Law (PLM-CL) provides one of the best and most affordable law education in our country. It is by this same reason that many aspiring lawyers, like us, are grateful to have this opportunity to study in the so called The Peoples Law School. For a 19-unit academic load, a student pays in the approximate amount of P16,000.00 and P27,000.00, for partial scholars and non-scholars respectively, on a CASH BASIS ONLY. Cheaper it may seem compared to other law schools, yet many of the students are still having difficulty of raising the money to pay for the same. This is demonstrated by the fact that a number of students filed their Leave of Absence (LOA) due to financial difficulties. A handful of aspiring freshmen students did not continue enrolling despite having admitted due to the overwhelming increase (10%) in the tuition fee. We have been pleading, every enrolment in the accounting office, to allow us to pay on an INSTALLMENT BASIS but to no avail. Instead, we were advised to write a proper petition, requesting for the same, to the Board of Regents. With this, we would like to seek the help of the honorable Board of Regents in addressing and giving solution to this perennial problem. An instalment basis scheme of paying the tuition fee would be a very helpful tool in giving our students the opportunity to pursue their law education continuously amidst the financial constraints they may encounter. May this request merit your most favorable response. Thank you for your unending support. In the service of the student body, NOLIVER F. BARRIDO President Noted by: JUSTICE OSCAR M. HERRERA, JR. CL-SC Adviser Recommending approval: ATTY. ERNESTO P. MACEDA, JR. Dean, PLM College of Law
