How useful if this source (Yurovskys account of the execution of the imperial family), in studying the assassination of the

Romanovs? Consider reliability and perspective. This source is very useful when studying the assassination of the Romanovs, as it gives a first-hand account of the events that took place, from an almost entirely objective perspective. Yurovsky was one of the members of the Bolsheviks that were responsible for the murder of the imperial family. His account of the events is written in 1934, 16 years after the actual events took place. This would allow him to have looked back on the proceedings many times in his head, which would have meant that he would no longer feel emotional or remorseful about the topic. This is how he was able to write his account in a very objective way. As he was writing about an event he was an eye-witness to, it is also a primary source, making it more reliable. During his account, he doesnt try to make himself the hero of the story, ruling out the possibility of him having written this to prove his heroics. Instead, it is written as a series of events to allow readers to know what happened. The text also doesnt seem biased, as it doesnt favour one side or the other, even though he was on one of those sides at the time. Jaimie Donovan
