The olive tree, symbol of peace and sustainability, is from the ancient times, for the Greeks and other Mediterranean people, basic source of life, inspiration and wealth.

OLIVE AND RELIGION

The oldest olive tree in the village Vouves in Chania, Crete, has a diameter 12.5 m. Its age is estimated between 2500-5000 years.

In Greece, as in all olive countries in South Europe, the workers collect the olives with many ways, some of them come from the ancient times.
